Adele’s Rolling in the “25”

  • imagePerhaps now Adele remembers how it feels to have the world fall at her feet again, because it surely appears to have been that way for her these last couple of weeks with her new album “25” making history upon its second week of being released.
    In its first week, “25” sold 2.3 million copies, surpassing *NSYNC’s American record and Hikaru.
    Billboard is reporting that Adele’s new album will sell another million copies through the duration of its second week of being released.
    “25” is the first album to to sell that many U.S. copies over the course of two weeks in the SoundScan era.

De-stress Fest

Students who are in need to de-stress do not have to despair for too much longer. This year’s De-stress Fest is next week here at Utica College.

We know everyone’s beginning to feel overwhelmed if you aren’t already with finals week coming up.

The De-stress Fest will have everything from stress balls to even hitting a pinata. There will also be chair massages, tips on handling anxiety, calming teas, snacks, essential oil therapy, and much more.

Be sure to stop by the lounge in the Strebel Student Center on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from noon to 4 p.m.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas at UC

You’re going to want to mark Thursday, Dec. 10 in your calendars because it’s movie night at Utica College in the Strebel Student Center.

Utica College Programming Board (UCPB) is hosting a screening of “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” S’mores, hot chocolate, and popcorn will be provided.

Grab your friends and be sure to come dressed in your pajamas. UCPB is going to hold a contest and will give prizes away to the ones who show up wearing the most holiday spirited, the coziest, and the most creative pajamas.

The movie will start at 7 p.m. in the Strebel lounge.

Holiday Dinner at Utica College

UC’s Holiday Dinner is tomorrow Dec. 3 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. This is one of the college’s oldest traditions. The faculty and staff will be working for your tips.

All tips and additional money raised will support the Inter Greek Council Adopt-A-Classroom program for Kernan Elementary School’s 1st grade classrooms in Utica.

Herkimer County Arts & Crafts Fair

Herkimer county has something special in store for art fans this weekend. This weekend is the 39th Herkimer County Arts and Crafts Fair.

This is one of New York’s largest juried arts fairs. Attendees can expect to see vendors’ “high-quality, fine art and unique products.” Here

Additional showcased products include pottery, oil paintings, textiles, photography, water colors, jewelry, and more.

The fair has plenty of free parking spaces across from the show.

Booth spaces cost $155. All proceeds benefit the Herkimer County College Foundation, providing scholarships for students at Herkimer College.

The event is at Herkimer College, just off the NYS Thruway exit 30.
