Today’s the first day of Homecoming Weekend. With all the out-there styles that have been allowed this past week for Spirit Week, today is School Pride Day. Members of the Utica College community are encouraged to wear their UC apparel today.
One way UC is celebrating Homecoming tonight is by having a carnival behind the Strebel Student Center tonight from 6-9:30 p.m.
Don’t despair if you’re unable to make it tonight. The carnival will also be open tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 3 from 4-7 p.m.
Fun fact – today is also National College Radio Day.
This week is homecoming week at Utica College and our dance team, A.I.M (Africa In Motion), has put together a line up of homecoming themes for each day of this week. Today is Wacky Tacky Thursday. Though the theme may seem cliche`, it is meant to get everyone ready and excited for homecoming weekend. Now, the organization didn’t go as far as to crown someone for the wackiest/tackiest outfit, but the main goal is to enhance school spirit, especially during such an exciting time.
Wacky Tacky Day is actually a very common theme at schools, from elementary school all the way up to college. Check out some pretty crazy wacky tacky ideas here.
It’s homecoming week here at Utica College.
We can thank one of our beloved organizations, Africa In Motion (A.I.M) for this one. Thanks to them, they’re making homecoming week eventful by having a week full of dress up. And what better way is their to show school spirit than to go all out?
This Thursday pull out your tutus, leg warmers, obnoxious bright color pants, Chuck Taylor’s and suspenders because it’s wacky tacky Thursday. Wacky Tacky day seems like a cheesy event to be apart of, but it’s a great way for students to display their pride and individuality.
