UCTV Club

Utica College students who are interested in television, being on the set or working behind the scenes can join UCTV Club. The group meets Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. in the TV Convergence Center on the main campus in the basement of the Faculty Center. All are welcome to join.

Club members will learn how to craft news stories from the writing, how to work a video camera and be able to shoot footage to go with their stories, what it’s like to be a news anchor on the set in the television studio, and how to work the sound system and additional functions that are a part of the production.

For those who are interested in joining or want more information, contact Jacy Sullivan at jasulliv@utica.edu

For The Love Of The Game

They don’t wear your “traditional jersey”, no last name on the back, just a number.

At the Division III level, athletes play for the name on the front of the jersey. These athletes do not get scholarships for their athletic ability as do the student-athletes at the Division I and II levels.

Division III athletics is purely for the love of the game and having pride representing their school. These athletes put in countless hours of practice and work just to be able to continue to play the sport they love beyond the high school level.

The teams are more than just players wearing the same jerseys though, these teams are a family. Playing together and holding themselves accountable for the teammate next to them.

Division III athletics is the epitome of what it means to be a “team player,” and to play for something more than themselves.

No names on the back of their jersey. No money for how good they play. Blood, sweat, and tears just for the love of the game.
